In this course Scott will demonstrate how to use the tools in SketchUp to create, modify, and export both the interior and exterior of a model house.

First you will learn how to work with toolbars, shortcuts, objects, groups, components, and guides in the SketchUp interface.

Then, you will learn how to bring in a reference image and use that image as a guide to create walls, mullions, beams and floors to the model. Then you will learn how to add topography, furniture, plumbing, millwork, and pre-made assets to help detail your model.

Finally you will learn how to set up your model for export from Sketchup for 2d views or into another program, such as 3ds Max. You will also learn some of the more advanced features of Sketchup, such as the follow me tool, the array and rotate tools, and other advanced sandbox tool features.

When you are done with this course you will know how to create a model from a reference image, how to manipulate that model to create professional looking views quickly, and how to utilize some of the advanced tools of SketchUp to create complex shapes and objects.

In this Architecture Software Crash Course Jorge Berrero from Gensler will show you how to utilize the most popular architectural software on the market, including Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max Design, Sketchup, Rhino, and Grasshopper, highlighting their strengths and demonstrating when and why you would want to use each one.

First you will learn the basic modeling tools used in these different software to create terrain, floor slabs and outlines, the basic house structure, and how to create curtain walls. Then, you will learn how to utilize plug-ins such as Grasshopper, how to use displacement maps to bring in images to your project, and how to share projects between different software. Finally you will learn the basics of creating a rendering and when to use Photoshop versus Illustrator.

When you are done with this course you will know how to use the basic tools for modeling and drawing in different software, how they differ, the common components they share, and ultimately how to choose the right tool for the job.

This course is a guide to using SketchUp and Photoshop to produce a quick and effective, schematic project. The guide follows a logic similar to an architecture studio project, in that we will use existing site parameters to develop a building. The 3D modeled content will be exported and as a high quality 2D image and then refined in Photoshop.

This Course will take you through an entire production process to create stunning architectural renderings, from start to finish.  When you are finished you will create a photo-realistic rendering of the interior of a house.  There are 3 parts to this course:

Part 1- Building a 3d Model in SketchUp: You will gain an understanding of the basics of SketchUp and how to take 2d CAD drawings and build a finished 3d model.  Then you will cover strategies for how to utilize materials and cameras so that you can leverage them in 3ds Max Design.

Part 2- Materials, Lighting & Rendering in 3ds Max Design: You will import the fully textured SketchUp model into 3ds Max Design and set up materials, lights and produce a final rendering.  You will also produce ambient occlusion and Z-depth renderings for use in post production.

Part 3- Post Production in Photoshop or After Effects: Ramy will show you how to bring these renderings into either Adobe After Effects or Adobe Photoshop for post production to finalize your Rendering.  In both tools he will show you how to create effects such as Lens Flare, Vignetting, Depth of Field and Unsharpen Mask.
