In objective 1.2, which makes up about 5% of the exam, you will need to be familiar with pricing structures and price categories, understand how alternates play into the selection of contractors, and analyze and tabulate bids in order to recommend a contractor to the owner. A classic question might provide you with a matrix of bids and some factors that are important to the owner and then ask you to recommend which bidder the owner should contract with. In objective 1.3, which is also about 5% of the exam, we will review how to adjust project cost when necessary by analyzing which aspects of the contract or the design can be modified.
